The birth of Austin 3:16. Steve Austin wasn't even suppose to win King of the Ring. Triple H was penciled in as winner, but got punished for Kliq Curtain Call. Austin got the nod. He defeated Marc Mero on the PPV moving him to the finals, but a kick from Mero sent him to hospital for stitches in middle of PPV. Came back and made short work of Jake Roberts targeting the injured ribs before taking victory. It was at his coronation he cuts his infamous Austin 3:16 promo jumpstarting his way to main event and face of WWF during Attitude Era. Strange how changes from the original plans sent WWF from being bottom rung to the top in two years.
